Broker's Comments

The Contessa 32, arguably the most successful one-design cruiser racer of all time was designed by David Sadler and Jeremy Rogers in 1970 and over 750 were built. Jeremy Rogers yard in Lymington, UK is still building them now.

I could wax lyrical all day - I am a big fan of their classic looks, cracking upwind performance, ease of handling and ok, they do not have the volume below of more modern designs but they do have enough space, more than their sleek lines would have you believe. There is a very active and committed class association with a wealth of information available and regular sailing and social events organised. Because they are so popular they are easy to upgrade/replace equipment which will fit and has been tried and tested.

This particular boat has been in the same ownership for over 20 years and has been cruised by a family and cared for well. Only for sale having eventually been outgrown by an expanding brood of grandchildren she's very much original and although she could benefit from some upgrades now she is well equipped and in commission, waiting to sail away.
