Broker's Comments
The Contessa 26 was designed in 1965 by David Sadler and introduced at the London Boat Show in 1966 by Jeremy Rogers of Lymington, England. Between 1966 and 1977 Rogers built 350 Contessa 26s, the moulds then going to Canada where they continued with another 400.
Solo circumnavigations, transatlantic crossings, Round Britain and Ireland races or around the cans, this little boat can turn herself to anything! Two long sea berths, a v-berth forward and ample storage mean that family cruising, although basic, is perfectly do-able and she certainly is more than spacious enough for short handed adventuring.
This has a feeling of a really honest boat. She's clearly been enjoyed and well maintained and was found clean and tidy on deck and below. Her sails look nice and crisp - the engine wasn't heard running as she's awaiting a solenoid replacement but that's in progress and there's plenty of historic paperwork and manuals aboard.
This Contessa 26 is afloat in Cowes and available for easy viewing. Adventures await!
