Broker's Comments

Moody's origins date back to the 19th century when in 1827, the boat builder John Moody founded a shipyard company on the banks of river Hamble near Southampton, UK. Launched in 1988, the Moody 425 shares a hull with the 422 from two years previous. It proved very popular. By the time the 425 was discontinued in 1991, 116 boats had been sold, adding to the 72 Moody 422s built between 1986 and 1988

Designed for all seasons, the centre cockpit keeps you well clear of the water in inclement conditions whilst the large flat areas of coachroof provide lounging and sun bathing space. The simple, double-spreader masthead rig was fitted with in-mast furling as standard from new.

Down below she is comfortably laid out for coastal or ocean sailing. The aft cabin has a centreline double berth, good usable stowage and plenty of room to move around. The second double cabin is forward. Both cabins are en-suite however cleverly both heads can be accessed from the saloon as well, ideal for keeping cabins dry when on passage. The spacious saloon has a table large enough to seat all the crew in comfort, while also providing two good sea berths. If additional berths are required there are twin bunks in the walk through to the aft cabin. The galley is well laid out with plenty of worktop space and ample storage

She is a well equipped, solid example of a great design and would make a fantastic liveaboard, cruising or otherwise. She's currently out of the water and awaiting her next adventure
